    Sure do. My son is a huge fan of the two Greek Guses - Gus Drax and Gus G. He Gushes over them, you could say. :unsure::cool:

    Όποιος έχει τα γένια έχει και τα χτένια

    (cougr, you've really come back with a vengeance, revisiting and resurrecting old threads, etc...) Anyway, seeing this thread has popped up - There are heaps of idioms that you could combine for this. Here's a couple that readily come to mind (I'm sure there are many, many others). Before...

    Inspective gesture

    Ναι, όμως, δεν γίνεται να ισχύουν και τα δύο (έτσι δεν είναι; ) - είτε πρόκειται για "γλώσσα του σώματος," είτε για σημάτων μέσων χειρονομιών;

    Για το theme (as it can also include sounds - and not just visual elements), δεν ξέρω αν θα ταίριαζε κάτι σαν το ... όψη και αίσθηση ή εμφάνιση και αίσθηση;

    Inspective gesture

    Thanks, cougr. I wasn't aware that body language was typically involved in their training. So, knowing this now has made me a little more certain.

    Inspective gesture

    I can't be certain, of course, but I find it interesting that the same thought crossed your mind. We are dealing with a bad translation, and "gesture" (as we've both sensed) is really not that far removed from "non-verbal communication"/"body language," and everything seems to point in this...

    Inspective gesture

    Also, going back to page 35/59: •"Gesture and professional ethics" appears under "Subject/Activities - and (if you notice), it comprises the 1st Phase "Theoretical" portion of the Initial Training/Internship," whereas "inspective gesture" which appears (only) under the "Evaluation Methods"...

    Inspective gesture

    If you notice, "inspective gestures" appears only on the Evaluation Methods side on page 35. Which leads me to believe that what is being evaluated is the body language of the trainee inspector (how they used their gestures/body language to communicate non-verbally during the actual on-site...

    Inspective gesture

    Αυτό το (misnomer/bad translation) "Inspective Gesture" μπορεί να αναφέρεται στο Body Language του εκπαιδευμένου; Τώρα που το ξανά σκέφτηκα, επειδή αναφερόμαστε εδώ σε μια προκαταρκτική διαδικασία αξιολόγησης και επιλογής (to select the best trainee Inspectors to be further trained), νομίζω ότι...

    Retraction hazard

    Interesting, cougr. I'm guessing that "Retraction" here (in this specific document and Hazard list) would cover Drawing-In and Trapping Hazards, as they don't appear on this list. As mentioned, "Retraction Hazard/s" and "Retracting Hazard/s" only yields a handful of google search results - and...

    Retraction hazard

    Strangely, if you google search "retracting hazards," you only get 2 search results? And "retraction hazard" brings up one search result regarding a fault with some flap on a plane (a Cessna) and another one regarding a nose wheel.

    Retraction hazard

    I agree, cougr - the first thing that "retracting" normally brings to mind (when thinking of mechanical things) is exactly what you've decribed. But I relied on the wider context (here) being Mechanical Hazards, and I referred to the Mechanical Hazards list (below) to see if there may have been...

    Retraction hazard

    I'm guessing ... Αυτό το "retraction hazard" μπορεί να αναφέρεται σε ένα από το ακόλουθα : drawing-in hazard, trapping hazard or crushing hazard? Υπάρχει και το snap-back hazard (posed by tensioned, wire mooring lines, etc..).
