Aμέρικα του Πολ Σάιμον. Η μινιμαλιστική εκδοχή με την οποία άνοιξε ο Ντέιβιντ Μπόουι τη συναυλία στη Νέα Υόρκη για την 11/9 (The Concert for New York City, 20/10/2001), καθισμένος στη σκηνή με ένα απλό Suzuki Omnichord. (αντικαταστάθηκε το αρχικό βίντεο)
Ξέρετε πώς στην αρχή τον έλεγαν εδώ όλοι Μπάουι, μέχρι που ανακάλυψαν ότι το όνομα προφέρεται Μπόουι και ότι ο Ντέιβιντ Ρόμπερτ Τζόουνς το πήρε από τον Αμερικανό πιονιέρο, τον Τζιμ Μπόουι, που βάφτισε και το bowie knife. (Αν βασιστώ στο Γκουγκλ, δύο εξακολουθούν να τον λένε Μπάουι για κάθε έναν που τον λέει Μπόουι.)
Το αστείο λοιπόν είναι ότι, λες και ήθελε να εκδικηθεί όσους προφέρουν στραβά το όνομά του, ο Μπόουι προφέρει εδώ (και ελπίζω να το ακούω καλά) το παπιγιόν «μπάου ταϊ».
