J. K. Rowling uses idioms such as this in her own unique way. For example, she has old Mrs Figg saying (in the Order of the Phoenix, I think) "Well, it's no good crying over spilt potion, I suppose ... but the cat's among the pixies now". I don't know how that was translated. :)

The translation is: "Τώρα είναι αργά για δάκρυα... ό,τι έγινε έγινε". The translator chose to convey the first of the idioms twice and forget about the second one. The play could not be translated, anyway, in any of the phrases.
