put or keep something in the vault

(Very recent Australian idiom) to keep quiet about something/ to keep a confidence/ to have one's lips sealed. A refreshing recently coined idiom from banking where the vault is an underground room, especially for storing valuables.
--"Please don't tell my wife about my affair."
--"Don't worry I won't. I'll keep it in the vault."
-- I'm so angry with you: you told my sister about the trauma my only boyfriend caused me!
-- You didn't tell me to keep it in the vault. :glare:
