γρόθος used for μαλάκας in Crete

Is it true that Cretans use γράθος for μαλάκας in Crete? If so, what does it mean? There is an ancient Greek word
γυργᾰθός but its meanings of ‘wicker basket/net woven by tarantulas/ cage for insane patients’ is probably irrelevant to my thread.
