What shrub or plant is the above exactly? Most translators of Greek songs translate it as "osier"; similarly in ΛΚΝ the definition has only this meaning. But elsewhere it is translated as "vitex agnus-castus", also called "vitex, chaste tree, chasteberry, Abraham's balm, lilac chastetree, or monk's pepper, a native of the Mediterranean region."
Which is it? or is this tree used for basketry, like osier is in the U.K.: "basket willow, withy,osier" used for the same purpose?

Λυγαριά είναι o θάμνος vitex agnus-castus και χρησιμοποιείται όντως στην καλαθοπλεκτική. Επίσης, από τα κλαδιά της φτιάχνανε τις βίτσες που όλοι αγαπήσαμε.

Δεν είμαι σίγουρος ποιο δέντρο ή θάμνο λέτε osier στην Αγγλία. Αν είναι απλώς συνώνυμο του willow, τότε μιλάμε για την ιτιά. Έχεις καμιά φωτογραφία ή κανένα λινκ για το δέντρο αυτό, Θησέα; Έψαξα πολύ πρόχειρα στο γκουγκλ αλλά δεν έβγαλα άκρη, την ιτιά μου φάνηκε ότι λένε έτσι ή τουλάχιστον κάποια είδη.
