Όποιος δεν ξέρει και του πουν

In this sentence, why is του πουν used, since it seems always to be the form of λέω used in dependent clauses? Όποιος δεν ξέρει και του πουν puzzles me?

I am not sure I remember the grammar well, but it is a conditional (hypothetical) sentence and του πουν is the aorist of the subjunctive of the verb λέω. Perhpas it woudl be less confusing if it were like this:
Αν κάποιος δεν ξέρει και του πουν...

Thanks very much, SBE. You will find the full Mantinada under για μιας. It runs thus:-
Όποιος δεν ξέρει και του πουν, για μιας τον πιάνει ζάλη
πως στα Σφακιά τον πόλεμο, τον κάνουν πεντοζάλι".
It is the lyrics to the Pentozali, for which see Μαδάρες, #1.
Your explanation makes sense, viz.a conditional sentence. I should have realised that the conditional form of ξέρω is the same as the indicative.:)
