... I'm guessing the equivalent in English of "ποικίλων όσων" is "various whatever/whichever"?
They're "precious metals" notionally and metaphorically speaking (it represents something invaluable and that's all we need to know) ... and that what's important is that it's an inexhaustible treasure trove for the mind/soul?
Am I right?

I tend to interpret it as meaning "all variety of/ all sorts of.

Α, συγγνώμη, αναφερόμουν στο «πλείστων όσων» και στο ότι το «όσων» δεν έχει ανάγκη ύπαρξης. Στο «ποικίλων όσων» μπορείς να σκεφτείς ότι υπάρχει μεγάλη ποικιλία. Βασικά, αυτό που θέλει να πει ο συγγραφέας το λέει στη συνέχεια: «που όσο περισσότερο το εξερευνείς, τόσο αποκαλύπτεται ο κρυμμένος πνευματικός θησαυρός του».

Yes, SBE. I was about to post the following, and I noticed and agree with your above post.

What's not being specified or rather being enumerated or established here is the actual number (it is not important or is of no consequence) - so, πλείστων "όσων" = numerous "however many" = numerous (and that's all we need to know)
ποικίλων "όσων" = various "however many" = various.

... το "οσων" είναι άχρηστο (όσα και να ειναι τα αναφερόμενα αντικείμενα, δεν αλλάζει τη σημασία).
