Fears of British English's disappearance are overblown

As a person who has lived in the UK for twenty odd years I would seriously doubt that. There is a vast swarm of new terms and phrases that are entering that Oxford dictionary due to technology and some dialectical (unofficial) additions purely due to cultural development (positive or negative)
Anyone who veers 50miles out of London though especially if headed North in places such as Yorkshire they shall quickly realise that americanisms are uncommon even between teenagers.
