Το snatch πάντα εμπεριέχει τη σημασία της βιασύνης - π.χ. to snatch = να αρπάξεις κάτι/ κάποιον, όσο πιο γρήγορα μπορείς, πριν δηλαδή προλάβει κάποιος (άλλος) να σε σταματήσει (η να σε αποτρέψει η,ίσως, να το αντιληφθεί) η να το/τον αρπάξει ο ίδιος.
Ενώ, όσον αφορά το grab, μόνο από τα συμφραζόμενα θα καταλάβουμε (η θα συμπεράνουμε) άμα συμπεριλαμβάνεται η σημασία της βιασύνης.

Επίσης, στο συγκεκριμένο παράδειγμα το snatch έχει και την έννοια της απαγωγής ή της αιφνίδιας αρπαγής και απομάκρυνσης κάποιου/ας παρά τη θέλησή του/της.

I think the important difference between "grab" and "snatch" is:
"to snatch" is the same as "to snatch away"(or away from), i.e., "away" (or away from) is (or can be) implied, with "snatch",
and. as such, "to snatch" is to remove suddenly (απομακρύνεις ξαφνικά), as you correctly pointed out cougr.
The girl was (allegedly) snatched "away",(or, allegedly, removed suddenly) -whereas we can't say she was "grabbed away"- as "away" is not being implied with "grab".
