Apologies beforehand! Today I've been at the supermarket and the air was live with cliches/idioms/proverbs--six or seven in total!!
Bugging you ( bothering you/ eating you ... )
Just as "a bug" is a "pest", and "to pester" is to bother, someone who is bothering you is "bugging you". Example:
--"My brother is bugging me."
If something is irritating you or making you upset, it is "bugging you". Example:
-- "What's bugging you?"
Another example:
--"Are you okay?"
-- "This problem at work is bugging me."
If a problem is on your mind and you cannot forget about it, it is "bugging you". :s
