Το good το καταλαβαίνω με την έννοια του επαρκής, αν και δεν είναι ανάγκη να χρησιμοποιηθεί η λέξη αυτή στη μετάφραση. Η πληρωμή της επιταγής αποτελεί εκπλήρωση της υποχρέωσης της εταιρείας / απαλλάσσει την εταιρεία από κάθε περαιτέρω ευθύνη.

Κι εγώ καταλαβαίνω το good με τη σημασία του επαρκούς, του ικανού, κάτι σαν επαρκής απόδειξη (εξόφλησης, whatever). OED:

discharge: 4e. Something that frees from obligation; esp. a document conveying release from obligation; a receipt for the payment of money due, an acquittance; a certificate of freedom from liability.
