Shit for brains means extremely stupid.
As a term of abuse originated in the USA in the 1960s. The earliest record of it seems to be David Maccuish's novel 'Do not go Gentle,'1960:
--"Larko's got shit for brains."
Also used in the vocative as an insult meaning an idiot; one who seems to have shit instead of brains, thus severely limiting his thought capacity.
--Hey shit-for-brains, you f****d up again didn't you?

I think the respective Greek terms would be αχυρόμυαλος or πιτουρόμυαλος. Thw Ghits are not many, because we don't use the adjective form often. It's used mostly in the form: έχει άχυρα/πίτουρα στο κεφάλι.

The much more widely used σκατοκέφαλος is, imho, a false friend :). In Greek this is not used for an idiot but for s.o. who has a really messed-up brain.
