The issue is not one of causation (i.e. can an actant produce Rancière’s “argumentative utterances”?) but of categorisation (i.e. which actants’ utterances will we consider “argumentative”)—not that inhuman politics are fundamentally different to human politics but that we have not been regarding them as such.
