I don't understand the words in bold. Help, please.
*??They did you a favour[no idea of meaning of ρε ψηλέ, what with a loan and you... hardly makes sense!

Ψηλέ literally means tall guy, as you already know. It is a colloquial form of address, no matter the height of the addressee, like saying, "man" or "dude".

Αn example of Northern Greek syntax, in standard Greek the phrase would read:
Ε, καλά σου κάναν ρε ψηλέ! Τι δάνειο και συ;
Καλά σου έκαναν/ καλά να πάθεις = you got what you deserved

Τι χχχ (και ξε-χχχ) και συ; What xxx are you on about? where xxx in this case the loan*
In other words, the guy got what he was asking for, because in the current economic climate it's impossible to get a mortgage

* I am not sure, but is is likely that the full expression is
Tι δάνειο (και ξε-δάνειο) μου/ μας τσαμπουνάς;
referring to the monotonous sound of the bagpipe (τσαμπούνα),"what are you on about?"

Northern Greek uses accusative instead of genitive:

δεν με δώσαν = δεν μου 'δωσαν = δεν μου έδωσαν
καλά σε κάναν = καλά σου 'καναν = καλά σου έκαναν
