Στην ελληνική πως το λένε το φαινόμενο αυτό που στα αγγλικά ονομάζεται virga:-

That’s interesting ....I just noticed that verga (slang, vulgar) refers to a shaft, but a different type of shaft, in another language. I’ll leave it at that. :eek:

Virga is Latin for ράβδος. The Italian verga came from it and we created βέργα from the Italian. So I thought we might keep βέργα for the meteorological phenomenon rather than hypocritically calling it ράβδος. :-)
