Search panel in Adobe Reader 8

Reader 8: Can Search window be docked?

No, there is no way to programmatically do the window.

It's interesting that you say this - as the search panel in Acrobat 5-7 WAS a docked panel (that couldn't be undocked) and we got the nastiest feedback from users that they wanted it to float to get more document viewing real-estate.

No, it is not configurable as it's not truely something that can be switched "on the fly".
I have passed your comments on to product marketing.

Ή:

Oddly enough, the web browser plugin version of Reader 8 does put the handy binocular Search icon in the Navigation panel. I actually prefer to read pdf files using Firefox instead of the real Reader 8 standalone client. Of course I'd rather just use Reader 8 so I can maximize my screen real estate.
