vented steam iron

Από πρότυπο προδιαγραφών ασφάλειας. Στο ίντερνετ ο όρος εμφανίζεται μόνο σε ευρεσιτεχνίες και πρότυπα προδιαγραφών.

Vented steam iron: Steam iron in which steam is produced when the water contacts the soleplate, the water reservoir being at atmospheric pressure. (Note: The water reservoir may be incorporated in the iron or is connected to the iron by a hose.)

Στο ίδιο κείμενο, παρατίθενται και οι παρακάτω ορισμοί άλλων τύπων:

Steam iron: Iron having means to produce and supply steam to the textile material during ironing. (Note: Steam irons may incorporate a means for blowing steam onto clothes.)
Pressurized steam iron: Steam iron in which steam is produced in a boiler at a pressure exceeding 50 kPa. (Note: The boiler may be incorporated in the iron or is connected to the iron by a hose.)

Δηλαδή το vented steam iron δεν εκτοξεύει ατμό αλλά νερό, το οποίο μετατρέπεται σε ατμό όταν έρθει σε επαφή με την πλάκα; Και πώς το λέμε αυτό;

Κάπου θυμάμαι το "steam vent" να αποδίδεται ως "ατμοθέρμη", αλλά δεν καταφέρνω τώρα να βρω περισσότερα.
 
Δεν έχω ιδέα τι είναι το steam vent ή η ατμοθέρμη, εδώ όμως μιλάμε για ένα πτωχό πλην τίμιο ατμοσίδερο.
Η πρόταση του Νίκου μού φαίνεται μια χαρά: πιστή και ακριβής.

Τώρα ελπίζω να μη σε στενοχωρήσω, αλλά σκέφτηκα και τη μεταφορική σημασία του vent, είδα και την «ατμοσφαιρική πίεση» στο κείμενό σου και μου ήρθε στο νου και η εναλλακτική διατύπωση «εκτονούμενου ατμού».
 
Μα δεν τίθεται θέμα εκτόνωσης από τη στιγμή που το δοχείο νερού έχει πίεση ίση με μία ατμόσφαιρα (δηλαδή δεν βρίσκεται υπό πίεση).

Αφού με κάλυψες, γιατί επιμένεις;
