The fifth and sixth principles of the rhizomeare those of "cartography" and "decalcomania". These principles state that the rhizome is not a tracing mechanism, but is a map with multiple entry points. Psychoanalysis, for example, is a representative tracing of the subconscious that exists prior to it's tracing. Tracing is not creating new, it is representing old - following lines that are already there. Mapping, on the other hand, "constructs the unconscious "by orientation " toward an experimentation of contact with the real."That is, maps can exist as themselves without need for anything outside of the map to exist while tracings can only exists as representations. (DELEUZE& GUATTARI, 12) To summarise the key aspects of the rhizome as described above, Deleuze and Guattari state that, "The rhizome is an accentered, nonhierarchical, nonsignifying system without a General and without an organizing memory or central automation, defined solely by a circulation of states."(DELEUZE & GUATTARI, 21)

Το ιταλικό (de)calcomania και η χαλκομανία πάνε χέρι χέρι από το 1889, τουλάχιστον. Βέβαια το calc- (από τη ρίζα που μας έδωσε και το calque) δεν έχει σχέση με χαλκό. Ένα συνώνυμο που θα μπορούσες να χρησιμοποιήσεις δεν θα ήταν η ξεπατικωτούρα, αλλά το έκτυπο. Τι έχουν χρησιμοποιήσει οι άλλοι ως τώρα;
decalcomania [décalcomanie]: the mimetic process of lifting a code, image, or text from one medium, then transferring it to another without transforming it; the practice of tracing or representation DG oppose to cartography (12). As décalquer means 'to transfer', décalcomanie is the mania of transference; DG's reason for using this odd term appears to be an effort to poke fun at the 'manic' nature of tracing what amounts to nothing more than a decal. The belief that decalcomania is possible arises from a rigid structuralism where one thinks that one can swap codes across media without changing their nature. A clear example of decalcomania is the transfer of genes through cloning, the process of making a perfect genetic copy.

Δεν έχω βρει κάτι σχετικό. Απλά προβληματίζομαι επειδή δεν πρόκειται για το υλικό που χρησιμοποιείται, αλλά για τη διαδικασία. Την αναπαραγωγή μιας εικόνας μέσω μιας χαλκομανίας.
Τόση ώρα το αντιμετώπιζα με αφηρημένο τρόπο, αλλά τώρα με πλημύρισαν αναμνήσεις από τα παιδικά μου χρόνια. Άραγε υπάρχουν ακόμη χαλκομανίες;

Χαλκομανίες νερού υπάρχουν ακόμα, αλλά λόγω της διάδοσης του αυτοκόλλητου και της θερμομεταφοράς, μάλλον περιορίζονται στον μοντελισμό και τα πασχαλινά αυγά, αν και βρίσκω και για άλλες χρήσεις, όχι έτοιμες όμως αλλά κυρίως εκτυπώσιμα φύλλα με την ειδική μεμβράνη, για ιδιοκατασκευές. Στο εξωτερικό πολύ περισσότερες, και για ονυχομανείς.
Μουσικώς, έχουμε ήδη φροντίσει.
Καλημέρα. Ξανακοιτάζω τον ορισμό που αντέγραψα πιο πάνω (θέλουν το κατακάθισμά τους αυτά τα πράγματα) και παρατηρώ κάποιες λεπτομέρειες: «the mimetic process» άρα έχουμε διαδικασία, «décalcomanie is the mania of transference; DG's reason for using this odd term appears to be an effort to poke fun at the 'manic' nature of tracing what amounts to nothing more than a decal», άρα έχουμε αξιοποίηση της «μανίας». Το πρόβλημα με την ελληνική χαλκομανία είναι ότι, ακόμα και αν επανεννοιοδοτήσουμε τη -μανία της χαλκομανίας (δηλ. την κάνουμε «μανία» και «διαδικασία»), μας έχει έχει ξεφύγει από παλιά το έκτυπο (calque) και έχει γίνει χαλκός. Μήπως ήρθε η ώρα να φτιάξουμε τη λέξη εκτυπομανία;
