What exactly does tis couplet mean?
" Όποιος δεν ξέρει και του πουν, για μιας τον πιάνει ζάλη
πως στα Σφακιά τον πόλεμο, τον κάνουν πεντοζάλι".
The bits in bold flummox me.
Presumably, του πουν means 'they tell him'; does για μιας mean 'since' & 'τον πιάνει ζάλη' mean 'it puzzles/flummoxes/confounds him'?

για μιας (διά μιας / διαμιάς / γιαμιά ) = at once

Other variants include μεμιάς / μονομιάς / μονοκοπανιά, or even μιαν κοπανιά (suddenly) as they say in Crete.

τον πιάνει ζάλη = makes him dizzy
