This is from an interview of some kind and this is the question the interviewer asks the person whom he is interviewing this question:
Στο παρελθόν έχετε προβάλει προς τα έξω την υπαλληλική σας ιδιότητα. Είχατε ανάγκη να δουλεύετε;
I know what it means but I need a concise term to express it in English--'your experience as a white-collar worker?':huh:

Right. This could just be "employee status". But I think the meaning here is "the fact that you are/were/have been working as an employee / working in paid employment".
