Να κάνω μια πρώτη πρόταση: το να ξέρεις (πώς) να διατηρείς το πλεονέκτημα.

Δεν υπάρχει μονολεκτική απόδοση στα ελληνικά, ε;

Στρίμωγμα: Η διατήρηση της πρωτιάς.

Ωραία η "διατήρηση της πρωτιάς".

...ή η διατήρηση της πρωτοβουλίας, της πρωτοκαθεδρίας κλπ. κατά περίπτωση.

Να είσαι (πάντα) ένα βήμα πιο μπροστά.

Το πρωτοπορείν (τι, δεν ξέρουμε εμείς από απαρέμφατα, νομίζεις; ).

Μου κάνει εντύπωση που προτείνετε σοβαρές και επίσημες (και καλοπροαίρετες) μεταφράσεις, γιατί εγώ πάντα θεωρούσα ότι έχει ελαφρά αρνητική χροιά, ότι είναι ισοδύναμο με το να κάνεις τον εξυπνάκια ή να προσπαθείς να βγεις από πάνω κλπ κλπ.
