to swing into action

To start doing something energetically:-
--I usually get to work at 7:45, get some coffee, and I go into action at 8:00. When the ball is hit in my direction(!!), you should see me swing into action.
-- Come on, let's swing into action before the others arrive.
This idiom uses swing in the sense of "move vigorously.":sneaky:

Τhe idiom has been used so much by the press, we should probably look for a Greek journalistic cliche (and let both cliches die a peaceful death).

You can say σηκώνω τα μανίκια, litt. "roll up one's sleeves". Or, "ας ριχτούμε στη δουλειά", and "αναλαμβάνω δράση" (the last one is the journalistic cliche :))

Also "spring into action", as in:

Baldrick: No, wait. We do nothing... until our heads have actually been cut off.
Blackadder: And then we... spring into action?
Baldrick: Exactly! You know how when you cut a chicken's head off, it runs round and round the farmyard and then out the gate?
Blackadder: [haltingly] Yyyyyyyeah...?
Baldrick: Well, we wait until our heads have been cut off, then we run round and round, out the gate, and escape!

We also have αφυπνίζομαι, δραστηριοποιούμαι and in other contexts πέφτω με τα μούτρα (στη δουλειά).
